Ingredients required to prepare Tamil Nadu Style Chicken Chalna
Onion - 1 No. Big
Tomato - 1 No. Big
Green Chilly - 2 Nos.
Ginger & Garlic Paste - 2 Tablespoons
Chicken - 500 gram
Skin of Chicken - 200 gram
Turmeric Powder - 1 Teaspoon
Salt - required amount

Oil - 2 Table spoons
Cinnamon - 1 Inch
Clove - 3 Nos.
Black Pepper - 1 Tea Spoon
Anise seeds - 1 Table Spoon
Garlic- 5 Nos.
Onion - 1 Big
Tomato - 4 Big
Coconut (Grated) - 1 Cup
Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Cashew nuts - 10 Nos.
Chilli Powder - 1 Table Spoon
Coriander Powder - 1 Table Spoon
Turmeric Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Salt - as much as required
Clove - 3 Nos.
Black Pepper - 1 Tea Spoon
Anise seeds - 1 Table Spoon

Tomato - 4 Big
Coconut (Grated) - 1 Cup
Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Cashew nuts - 10 Nos.
Chilli Powder - 1 Table Spoon
Coriander Powder - 1 Table Spoon
Turmeric Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Salt - as much as required
Preparation procedure for Tamil Nadu Style Chicken Chalna Recipe
Clean the chicken very well.Cut the onion and tomato into fine chops.
Take a pan and keep it on stove with high flame. Pour oil and wait until it is hot and turn it to medium flame. Now add anise, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and curry leaves and saute it well.
After that add the finely chopped onion to it and fry it until it turns golden brown. After that add tomato and saute it further.
Then add chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder and garam masala powder to it and saute it well for some more time.
After all ingredients get cooked well, add grated coconut and cashew nut and saute it once finally. Now switch off the flame and transfer all ingredients in a plate and let it to cool. After cooling transfer all ingredients to a mixer jar and grind them into a fine paste. Add little water if required to make it into a fine paste.
Now take another pan and pour oil to it. After the oil is hot enough, add finely chopped onion and fry until it turns golden brown. Add ginger and garlic paste and fry it until the raw smell goes away from it.
Next add finely chopped tomato to it and fry it well. Then add green chili, turmeric powder and salt and fry it very well.
Now add chicken and chicken skin to it and fry it. At this time add some water to it and close the pan, Let it to boil for about 20 minutes in medium or high flame.
After 20 minutes cooking in a closed pan, add the ground paste and cook it further for 15 minutes in a low flame. At this time the oil will separate from the gravy and float on top. Wait until you see this stage before you finish cooking the Tamil Nadu Style Chicken Chalna.
Finally add finely chopped coriander leaves and take it out of flame and transfer it to a serving bowl.
Now hot and spicy Tamil Nadu Style Chicken Chalna is ready to be served. It goes very well with Idly, Dosa, Chapathi, Roti, Parota, Poricha Parota, Aapam, Idiyappam, or even Uthappam.
