6 Cooking and Healthy Dieting Tips

  1. After having food, smack either a sugar candy (கற்கண்டு) or a chocolate in your mouth and eat. This will let a lot of saliva to ooze out with a help of salivary glands. So with this dieting tip, food that you had will get digested easily.
  2. To increase the taste of lemon pickle, add a piece of fried ginger to it. This will add an extra taste to the pickle. This is also a healthy tip as it helps in avoiding indigestion.
  3. When you prepare Dosa or Idly podi (powder), you can add 2 teaspoons of basil seeds to it. Need not fry, it can be added as it is while grinding. This will enhance a good aroma to your Dosa or Idly podi (powder). Try following this healthy dieting tip to have a good digestion.
  4. When considering taste in cooking, sometimes health becomes negligence. If you wish to bring both taste and health in a dish try this recipe. Add a little honey to dates and grind it well. Then mix it with chapatti flour. Now prepare chapatti with this flour and children will love to eat this sweet chapatti. No side dish will be required with this sweet chapatti. It is also very much healthy.
  5. If the adai flour is not used for many days yeast forms and the taste becomes sour. In such condition we usually waste it. But it need not be wasted. Instead you can cook it in rice cake baking oven. Then loosen the rice cakes made of adai flour. Now make Adai Kaara Puttu by frying it with Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, pepper, split black gram, green chili, ginger, turmeric powder, curry leaf and onion.
  6. Every time when you prepare variety rice if you add (curd, lemon and coconut) and chopped, green chili and ginger, children and sometimes even elders will throw it away. Instead if green chili and ginger is grinded in a mixy jar without adding water and added to the fry that is prepared for variety rice, the taste will enhance and the nutrients will not be wasted.
