Rava - 1 Cup
Water - 3 Cups
Pepper Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Ginger Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Garlic Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Salt - To taste

Oil - 2 Tea Spoons
Mustard Seeds - 1 Tea Spoon
Split black gram dal - 1 Tea Spoon
Roasted broken chickpeas - 1 Tea Spoon
Red Chilli - 2 Nos.
Curry Leaves - 1 Bunch
Chilli Powder - 1 Tea Spoon
Grated Coconut - 1 Cup
How to Prepare Tamil Nadu Style Kaara Rava Urundai
First take a thick bottom pan and keep it in high flame. Add three cups of water to it and let it to boil.
When the water is boiling add required amount of salt, ginger powder and pepper powder in it.
Then keep the stove in low flame, add a cup of rawa to it and keep mixing it without any lumps.
Now when the ingredients get to a upma consistency, close the stove and keep it closed for some time.
After it gets to normal temerature, make into small balls and steam it in idly vessel for 10 minutes.
Now procedure for seasoning the Tamil Nadu Style Kara Rawa Urundai
Take a pan and add oil to it. Keep the flame in medium flame and wait until the oil it hot enough.
Now add red chilli and mustard seeds and let it to pop.
Then add split black gram and roasted split chickpeas and fry until golden brown stage.
Now add curry leaves, chilli powder and required amount of salt.
In this stage add the steamed rawa roundles and saute it for some time.
Sprikle very little water to it and add grated coconut to it.
Now make the flame to very low and close the pan for just 2 minutes.
Once you open the pan Spicy Tamil Nadu Style Kara Rawa Urundai is ready to serve.
