How to prepare South Indian Style Homemade Custard
with Pomegranate
First take a thick bottom bowl and add milk to it. In this
put a teaspoon of corn flour, an egg, 2 Teaspoons of sugar any flavour or fruit
essence and a whole egg. Instead of flavour powder or fruit essence I've have made
use of a tbsp of mixed fruit jam. This will give a good aroma and enhance sweetness.
Also using any flavours like vanilla powder or preserved artificial fruit
essence will not give a typical Tamil Nadu’s touch to the recipe. But mixed
fruit Jam is something that will be available in most of the houses. So I've
tried with it.
After adding all this ingredients, mix them up well with the
help of whisker.
Now put this on a low flame above the stove and keep
whipping continuously. Do not get diverted. This is the time when you have to
concentrate on the dish and not on any other works.
Keep on whisking continuously until you get a thick paste
like consistency. At this point of time you can add butter. But this is
optional if you are conscious about your diet.
Then take a serving bowl and put some pomegranates in it. In
this bowl filter and pour the custard paste.
Now South Indian Style Homemade Custard that is filled with
a bowl of Pomegranate has to be chilled.
Keep it in a refrigerator and enjoy this yummy Tamil Nadu Homemade
Custard with Pomegranate.
You can taste custard as it is if you could not control your mouth smacking for it. You can also use it as a supplement
with pudding, cake, ice-cream or even fruit salad. In previous Chocolate Pudding with Caramel toppings recipe, instead of caramel toppings you can have
this delicious chilled Homemade Tamil Nadu Style Custard.
