(Mulaikirai) leafy vegetable Cutlet
Now a days doctors always give advice not to have sugar, salt and oil. Even you can control your sugar and salt intake but oil which is difficult to do. If the oil is not adequate in the food it will not give that much taste. But you can try the following recipe adding a very small quantity of oil and can save your money as well as your family’s health too. In this recipe we use the green vegetable which gives iron to your body. Mulaikirai (in tamil) leaves have high nutritional value and anti oxidants are rich in this. You can get this leafy vegetable in red, green or purple colour also. This leafy vegetable is used mostly in south Indian cooking.

Ingredients required for making (Mulaikirai) Leafy Vegetable Cutlet
Mulaikirai - 1 cup (cut it into small pieces)
Onion - 1
Besan powder – ½ cup
Green chillies – 2
Garlic & ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Coriander leaves
Oil
Salt
Preparation of (mulaikirai) leafy vegetable Cutlet
First cook the kirai in the cooker with water and mash it well. Now cut the onion, green chillies in to small pieces.

Keep the kadai, pour some oil in it and then now first add the green chilies, onion, ginger garlic paste and fry it.
Now add the kirai in it.
Add some water in the besan powder and add some salt also. Make the idli like batter.
Once the batter is ready add it in the kadai vegetables and keep the flame lightly.
You can see the ingredients in the kadai can be take out easily. Make small balls and make it like a shape of cutlet.
You can have it as it is or you can keep the tava and fry it using very little oil init.
This cutlet is good for your health and also for your wallet as it costs reasonable.
