How to make Moong Dal Sheera - A Sweet with Jeera and Moong Dal Simple Recipe:

Ingredients required for preparing moong dal sheera

Ghee - 2 tbsp
Cashews - 10 pieces
Moong dal - 1 cup
Sugar - 1/2 cup
Elachi - 4 pieces
Water - as much as required

How to make Moong dal sheera - Tamilnadu Style:

Take a cup of moong dal and soak it in water for about half an hour.
After half an hour drain all the water from moong dal.
Then grind this moong dal that it soaked well. Make it into a fine paste.
Now take a pan and add ghee in it.
After the ghee melts, put the cashew nuts and fry them to golden brown colour.
Then add the moong dal that you have grinned already.
Fry this moong dal in low flame for some time.
Keep stirring continuously until the moong dal turns to brown colour.
Mean while you can prepare the jeera for this moong dal sheera.
For this you have to take a cup of sugar and add little water to it.
First take some sugar in a mixer jar and along with this add the elachi.
This is to make leaching into a fine dry powder.
After that add it along with the jeera that you are about to prepare.
Keep this sugar, elachi and little water mixture in low flame and let it to get to a jeera consistency.
To check for the jeera consistency, take a drop in your finger n try to pull it off like a thread. If it gives such a sticky consistency it is understood that the jeera for the moong dal sheera is ready.
Now take this jeera and add with the moong dal that you have fried to golden brown colour.
After blending both these contents, your moong dal sheera is almost done.
Mix it well and shut of the flame.
That's all. Moong dal sheera - a sweet dessert dish for the day is ready to serve.
