Christmas Special - Sweet Maida Stratum recipe

In this Christmas Eve, enjoy with an awesome recipe of making Sweet Maida Stratums. Usually festival or a special occasions starts with a sweet and this will be an interesting and innovative recipe that you can prepare at home. This Sweet Maida Stratum is a soft and little crispy role with a sweet juicy syrup in it. Kids and even elders will love this dish.

Ingredients required for preparing Sweet Maida Stratums


Maida (All Purpose Flour) – 1 Cup

Water – As much as required


Sugar – 1 Cup

Cardamom Seeds – 2 Pieces

Rose Essence – 2 or few more drops

Oil for deep Frying

Tutti Fruity

Salt – a pinch


Sweet Maida Stratums Preparation procedure

First take a bowl and add the Maida flour in it.

Then add required amount of water and just a spoon of oil with it. Also add a pinch of salt to it and knead the dough.

After kneading the flour into soft dough you can let it aside for some hours. The longer you leave it, the softer your Sweet Maida Stratum will be.

After that make the maida dough into small ribbon shaped sheets and apply a layer of maida that is made as a paste by blending it with ghee.

Then take a tutti-fruity and role the ribbon around it. You can make the Sweet maida stratums to the shape in which you wish.

After rolling the Maida Stratum, you have to deep fry it in oil now. Do not fry it for long time or wait for it to become golden brown. Just let it to cook and that’s enough.

In mean while set the sugar syrup ready. For preparing this sugar syrup all that you need to do is to add water with the sugar and just heat up slightly. With this you can add Cardamom seeds fried in ghee for flavor and a few drops of Rose essence for taste and flavor.

Now you can add this fried Maida Stratums into warm Syrup for some time and take it out.

Do not let the Sweet Maida Stratum to stay in syrup for long time because it will become soggy and may even dissolve in the syrup.

If you wish the dish to be sweeter, you can let the syrup to cool till normal temperature and then add the Maida Stratums into it. While adding like this, you can let it to be in syrup for long time.
