Recipe for making Homemade Boost with Ragi

Ingredients required for Homemade Boost with Ragi

Ragi – 1 Cup

Coconut – 1 Piece

Sugar – ¼ Cup

Cardamom – 2 Pieces



Preparation procedure for Homemade Boost with Ragi


Take a bowl and add ragi and a pinch of salt to it. With this add just 2 to spoons of water and mix it.

Keep this aside and now take a mixer jar and grind the sugar as a dry powder in it. With this sugar you can also add cardamom and grind.

Then take a pan and put coconut that is made into small slices. Keep in medium flame and fry until it turns to nice brown color. Then let it to cool for some time and grind it into fine powder.

Homemade Boost with Ragi cooking recipe


Take a pan and light it in medium flame. In this dry pan put the ragi dough and fry for a while. Let it to turn to brown shade. Keep stirring continuously until that. Actually it will take a little longer time to get this color. Wait until that with patience to get the perfect taste and look of boost.

After frying the ragi well add the coconut powder and sauté for some time. We have already fried the coconut flakes before grinding it. So we need not fry this for longer time in this stage.

Now you can add the powdered sugar and fry for just a minute or two. Do not fry too much after adding sugar because there is chance for the sugar to melt. If it melts then it won’t be like boost. It will be like puttu only then J

That’s all with the cooking. Finally you can transfer it to serving plate and garnish with cardamom.

It is a healthy snack for children. In fact kids will love it and will not know that the source of the dish is one which they usually hesitate to have.
